Go anywhere. Do anything. ®

Jeep® is an American automobile brand currently owned by the multinational corporation Stellantis. Jeep is a speciality brand whose range consists solely of sports utility vehicles (SUV), both crossover and full off-road SUVs.

Born for battle, the general-purpose vehicle or “GP” emerged as a hero to thousands of allied soldiers during the Second World War; these vehicles built in the 1940s firmly established the Jeep brand as an undisputed leader in 4x 4 technology.

In June 1940, with World War Two on the horizon, the US army solicited bids from 135 automakers for a 1/4 tonne light reconnaissance vehicle tailored to army specifications; only three companies responded: Bantam, Willys and Ford. They collectively produced the template for the vehicle known worldwide as the Jeep.

The 1941 Willys MA

Known as the “Quad” because of its 4x4 drive, featured a gear stick on the steering column, low-side body cut-outs, a minimalist instrument cluster on the dashboard, and a handbrake on the left-hand side.

After arduous testing Willys Overland was awarded the contract; it’s now the stuff of legend. The rugged, simple Jeep 4 x4 became the Gi’s best friend, second only to his rifle. Scripps Howard WW 2 reporter Ernie Pyle reported, “it did everything, it went everywhere, as faithful as a dog, as strong as a mule and as agile as a goat constantly carried twice what it was designed for and still kept going”.[1]

Post-war The Jeep brand has had many owners since Willis-Overland it was acquired by Kaiser motors in the 50s, eventually merging into AMC, the American Motors Corporation and finally from the late 80s by Chrysler Group until its current owners bought the brand in 2021.

Despite its varied ownership, Jeep continued to define its purpose and has rewritten its own history, coining the term SUV and also trailblazing with the revolutionary SUVs like the CJ, the first civilian Jeeps post-war, and the full-size Jeeps like the SJ Waggoner, Cherokee, Pickups, Gladiator Series, and the Dispatcher Jeep used by the US Postal Service in the 1960s.

Jeep has been ahead of the curve with SUVs; it’s been steadily developing off-road technology, and in the mid-1980s, the Wrangler and a redesigned Cherokee were introduced, creating an enthusiastic following.

The difference between SUV and 4x4

The words SUV, Compact SUV and 4X4 are often grouped into one; what are the differences? SUVs and compact SUVs have different frames and construction and have much less to do with their capability.

SUV is built upon a broader and longer frame, offers high ground clearance, and increases overall size. The Compact SUV is typically smaller and built on a car-based frame and a taller design to give you a spacious interior.

4x4 is a term used to describe a vehicle with a system that mechanically engages all four wheels simultaneously.

SUV or a Compact SUV and 4 x4 all offer superior off-road capability compared to standard cars; an elevated driving increased position gives better vision and safety and will guarantee a comfortable ride on or off-road; these qualities are that Jeep has represented in the past, and the present and into the future.

Current Jeep Models

The Jeep Renegade 4Xe reaches new heights with its exceptional levels of traction and manoeuvrability; with a nod to the original Willys MB with a 7-slot grill, this rugged 4-wheel drive car comes as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) capable of giving you up to 26* miles on pure electric 240 BHP and a nought to 62 mph in 7.1 seconds*

Three driver modes optimise efficiency and power based on your driving style. The Selec-Terrain™ traction control system allows you to select one of five specially calibrated settings for various road conditions.

Charging the battery on the Jeep Renegade 4Xe with a standard home wall box* will charge in under 2 hours.

There are two trim levels to choose from, with a high level of technology, the Limited and the Trailhawk, with customisable seats.

The Jeep Compass 4Xe plug-in hybrid offers classic SUV styling with elegant new style features, including 19-inch alloy wheels in satin grey (dependent on model).

The hybrid technology seamlessly combines 2 power units, electric only and a petrol engine with up to 240* BHP of combined power and 0-60mph in 7.3* seconds; using just the electric motor, you can drive 30* miles on a full charge battery at zero emissions.

The internal technology includes a 10.1-inch ultra-high-definition display using the Uconnect infotainment system, wireless functionality including a wireless charging pad, large storage compartments and a more extensive dashboard. There are 3 trim levels available: Limited, S and Trailhawk.

All Electric

The most compact Jeep yet, fuel your adventure; the iconic Jeep inspires bold aesthetics; the signature 7-slot grille contrasting black roof and front rear full LED headlights make the Avenger unmistakable on the road or, if you prefer, off it.

The First 100% electric Jeep combines performance and efficiency and has a maximum range of 250 miles on full charge*in  just three minutes of fast charging (150 kwh), you can add an extra 18 miles.

Just because the new Jeep is electric doesn't mean it doesn't reflect Jeep’s passion for off-road. The Avenger embodies determination, adventure, and style. The Selec-Terain™ and hill descent control technology helps you in all weather conditions; with good ground clearance, you’re ready for even the most extreme terrains.

Jeep Wrangler

The iconic 4th generation Jeep Wrangler, the Wrangler JL, is produced at jeeps Toledo Complex, Ohio; the Wrangler is a direct lineage from the World War II Jeep and the CJ (civilian jeeps) produced by Willys, Kaiser Jeep, and the American Motor Corporation through from the mid-1940s through to the 1980s.

The 4X4 Wrangler is available as a two-door or 4 door-long wheelbase. The iconic design stays true to Jeep’s heritage. It has a one-touch roof system that opens to give you the full open-air experience; on the inside advanced safety standards like blind spot monitor and Rear Cross Path detection.

To get the whole outdoor experience, you can fold down the front windscreen and take the doors off!

The interior design is for all weather

With heated seats, twin zone automatic temperature control, heated mirrors, boot capacity of 1,059 litres of seat-down boot space (4 Doors), removable cargo floor lockable compartments and mesh door pockets for total versatility. It even has a wash-out interior feature, remove the carpets, and you can wash out the whole interior with a hose pipe. *

The two-litre 272 BHP turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine on the Jeep Wrangler is available with engine stop-start and 8-speed transmission.

From a Technical point of view, the four-wheel power uses the command track 4x4 system with a lower ratio for rock crawling and a neutral for available flat towing, giving you the experience of freedom to go wherever you want.

Dana™ 44 axles beefed up with thicker tubes and superior strength, giving rigidity and durability, along with the Tru-Lock © electronic locking differentials can be activated from the instrument panel.

The Jeep Wrangler is an attractive lifestyle car; however, it can be a serious off-road vehicle, so if you want it for style, off-roading or towing, the Jeep Wrangler will definitely go anywhere and do anything.

Jeep is a heritage brand, and there is no doubt that leasing a Jeep is an excellent choice, offering a high level of technology and engineering for the price.

One of the main advantages of Personal or Business Contract Hire is that it can help you budget more effectively. Your monthly payments are fixed, so you'll always know exactly how much you need to set aside. This can be particularly useful if you're worried about your expenses increasing.

Other benefits of choosing a Contract Hire deal include a low initial payment and the ability to personalise your lease to suit your needs. Plus, with many different Jeep models available on lease, you can get a higher-specification car for your budget.
