YOKAHAMA DESIGN, SUNDERLAND BUILT.

Nissan Motor Company started life as Kwaishinsha Motor Car Works in July 1911 and produced its first car in 1914, called the DAT. [1]

Adopting the name DAT Motorcar Co in 1925, it predominantly built trucks and army vehicles as there was only a small market for cars amongst the Japanese population. With some success with small cars like the Datsun type11 and many mergers between different Japanese engineering companies and investors, the Nissan Motor Company was formed in 1934.

After completing its Yokahama production plant in 1935 they were, amongst other projects it was pursuing for the Imperial Japanese Army, Nissan made British kits of the Austin Cambridge under license; by 1955, the complete car was manufactured in Japan and with a Datsun engine.

Expanding on to the world market in the 1960s with the prestige, not-so-lucrative, Italianate sports cars, like the iconic 240z and the Datsun Fairlady, the 1973 oil crisis was an opportunity to produce high-quality small economical cars like the Nissan Sunny and Datsun Cherry and Bluebird.

Opening manufacturing plants around Europe, including the successful factory in Sunderland in 1986, introducing robotics first used in Japan to build the Micra and now used with highly skilled British workers to produce a new range of cars like the Nissan Qashqai.

When Nissan first pioneered the SUV Crossover in 2007, the Nissan Qashqai was the go-to SUV, spacious and practical. The 2022 Qashqai model range has evolved into a bold and stylish family SUV. Loaded with practical technology and even more usable space.

The Mild Hybrid (MHP)

Conventional petrol engine gives you E-power, which delivers a quieter, smoother, more fuel-efficient journey. The benefit of battery power without the need to charge. Available in various trim levels and gearbox options, all are an excellent value when choosing to lease.

The bold-designed Nissan Juke Crossover also gets the new E-Powered Hybrid treatment. With a nod to Nissan Rallying heritage, 143 bhp, up to 80% of your urban driving fully electric [2] manual or auto with paddle shift.

Juke gets a facelift

In the latest model year, with the entry-level Visia having a 114bhp petrol engine, LED headlights, full Bluetooth connectivity and cruise control. Acenta has an auto and a rear-view camera, and N-Connecta and Tekna have Hybrid options.

Nissan is ambitious to deliver super value through electrified vehicles and technological innovations. They were quick off the block with the Nissan Leaf, first built in Sunderland in 2010. The new second generation, built in 2017, increased the fully charged range up to 226* miles, and by 2019 after many awards, it was the world’s all-time top-selling plug-in electric car.

Even though there is a lot more competition in the electric car plug-in market, the new range of Nissan Leaf remains as popular as ever. The city version is excellent for everyday city commuting, with a 168-mile* range and great value to lease.

For a longer commuting journey, consider the Nissan Leaf +; it has an impressive 239* miles on a full charge and, again, excellent value to lease. The Leaf + is available in 2 variants, N-Connecta and the top-of-the-range Tekna; the standard city version has the same options with an additional entry-level variant, the Acenta.

Nissan has a new fully electric car

In the form of the Ariya; this car is a fantastic example of Nissan’s ambition and drops into the exciting new electric Crossover market. The choice to have two electric power units delivers instant launch and torque to all four wheels in all weather and terrain conditions.

This innovative vehicle is spacious and loaded with the latest technology, giving a range of up to 329 miles on a single charge, and for those on the go, you can get 217 miles of rapid charge in 30 minutes. This car is the new generation that defines Nissan’s ambition.

The all-new, five- or seven-seater X-Trail

Has arrived with a sharper contemporary design, more technology, and an E-power Hybrid system with a regeneration brake pedal, giving excellent overall fuel efficiency. Nissan’s largest SUV delivers family space and comfort, a key for any family SUV. Nissan X Trail comes in a variety of specifications to suit all budgets.

There are many deals and offers available for your next Nissan.

Some of the best deals are leasing or personal contract hire (PCH). Here are some benefits of choosing PCH.

One of the main advantages of a PCH is that it can help you budget more effectively. Your monthly payments are fixed, so you'll always know exactly how much you need to set aside. This can be particularly useful if you're worried about your expenses increasing.

Other benefits of choosing a PCH deal include a low initial payment and the ability to personalise your lease to suit your needs. Plus, with many different Nissan models available on lease, you can get a higher-specification car for your budget.

So, if you're considering leasing your next car, check out the best Tilsun Leasing PCH deals.
