New Nissan Qashqai

Nissan Qashqai is a mid-size crossover SUV manufactured by the Japanese Company, assembled in the UK at Sunderland in 2006 and is now in its third generation. Nissan named the vehicle after the Qashqai People of the mountainous region of Southwest Iran. [Wikipedia]

The 2022 model year car design is on trend with its redefined muscular proportions, brilliant LED lighting, stylish, roomy cabin with additional boot space, and a whole host of two-tone colours to choose from; the Qashqai has evolved once again as a market leader in its sector.

The new Nissan Qashqai is available in two or four-wheel drive, automatic or manual transmission. The DGi-T 1.3 petrol engine 149 BHP  or 158 BHP  Mild Hybrid combined with exterior lightweight, aluminium components claimed[Nissan] to give a  better fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions.

The Mild-Hybrid (MH) is a petrol engine with a small lithium battery that stores energy that is recovered while you are braking. This allows the onboard computer to switch off the engine whilst coasting and quickly restart automatically once power is again required.

Nissan has also developed an E-POWER Hybrid system that powers the drive wheels constantly without the need to plug into an external power port. This system gives you a 190bhp electric motor powered by a 1.3litre petrol engine; it also gives you the full electric driving experience, which is smooth, fast acceleration from a single gear and regenerative braking if you engage the E-pedal option.

Nissan refers to the technology as “bridging technology” and will help get potential customers to come closer to an EV without taking the full plunge.
