Toyota - Lucky 8 トヨタ

The Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese automobile manufacturer and is one of the world's largest car and van manufacturers, producing about 10 million* vehicles annually.

Founded in 1937, Toyota produced its first vehicle, the Toyota AA, in 1936 when it was still a department of a larger company called Toyota industries.

During the 1960s, Toyota took advantage of the rapidly growing Japanese economy to sell cars to the growing middle class, developing the Toyota Corolla, which would become the world's all-time best-selling automobile [2].

Toyota was a leader

in the development and sales of fuel-efficient hybrid electric cars, starting with the introduction of the Toyota Prius in 1997. The company’s range of cars now has over 40 hybrid vehicle models around the world; it even has here, in the UK, a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle called the Toyota Mirai.

Today in the UK, there is a varied range of Toyota cars on the road, familiar names like the Aygo supermini, which has eight different models, with a choice of automatic or manual gearbox 1 litre 72 bhp petrol engine.

Another familiar favourite is the Yaris

Launched in 1999 as a replacement for the Starlet and the Tercel; it is now in its fifth generation, it now sports a 1.5 petrol hybrid engine and is available in four different variants. There are also two spin-off models, the 1.6 petrol turbo charge 257bhp GR Yaris; this one-of-a-kind hot hatchback, developed in partnership with the Toyota World Rally Championship team, Toyota Gazoo.

The other spin-off of the Yaris’s name is the Yaris cross, a small stylish compact City SUV available in four different trim levels and the choice of two hybrid engines, both 1.5 petrol.

The Toyota Corolla

Was first available in the UK in 1966, now in its 13th generation and still available in a 5-door hatchback or a Corolla Touring sports estate. The now very stylish and ever-popular Corolla hatchback comes in 4 different variants to suit all budgets, and two engine offers, a 1.8 petrol hybrid producing 140 BHP or the two-litre petrol hybrid with a 190 BHP. The Corolla touring sports estate comes in the same trim combinations.

The Toyota C-HR urban SUV has unique styling instantly noticeable on the road, its contemporary interior is equally stylish, and the high-level onboard technology keeps you connected. There are four model variants across the range with two petrol hybrid engines, a 1.8litre 122 bhp version, and a 2-litre 184 BHP option on all but the entry-level Icon.

Toyota Rav 4

Was the best-selling SUV of any type in the world in 2019*, and it is as popular as ever in its fifth generation; it has mature muscular styling with the latest technology. Available as a 2.5 self-charge petrol hybrid in either two or four-wheel drive and four different trim levels, it continues to be a benchmark for an urban SUV. An additional Plug-in Hybrid has been added to the range in two trim levels, boasting 306bhp and 282mpg** and a 15-year battery warranty.

Suppose you are looking for a versatile 7-seater, then look at the Toyota Highlander. This premium product has a wealth of specifications with all-wheel drive, a 2.5litre self-charging petrol Hybrid, flexible seating, and good towing capacity. Currently available in one trim level, the Excel Premium.

Toyota’s first venture into full electric is in the shape of the Crossover EV named bZ4X (below Zero). Name aside; the bZ4X comes in two options, a front-wheel-drive model using a 150kw electric motor that produces 201PHPand a range of 317** miles on a full charge and 3 trim levels. There's also an all-wheel drive version that gives you a 160kw electric motor, with 215 BHP and a range of 277** miles on a full charge, two trim levels, plus a host of off-road drive settings.

The iconic Toyota Land Cruiser

Which has been available since 1951, is still available in the UK from Toyota. The Land Cruiser is a legendary combination of on and off-road performance and a dependable 4x4. The 2.8 diesel engine produces 204 bhp, and there are four trim levels to choose from, a three-door short-wheelbase and a five-door SUV, to two AWD five-door 7-seater versions.

Toyota has been in motorsport since the early 1970s, most notably in Formula One, NASCAR, IndyCar, and World Rallying Championship, to name a few. The new GR86 shows Toyota’s sporting heritage with a sleek aerodynamic two-door coupe design and 231 BHP 2.4 petrol boxer engine; it certainly makes a statement on the roads. Available as a six-speed manual or automatic with rear-wheel drive.

If you are looking for a top-performance sports car, look at the GR Supra. Supra has legendary status amongst Japanese car enthusiasts, so it has a reputation to defend.

GR Supra's 2-door coupe design blends motorsport aerodynamics with a powerful contemporary look; the 2litre or 3-litre straight-six petrol engine delivers up to 335BHP and 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds.

It’s not just about speed and agility; the GR Supra has a high level of technology inside and outside the car equipped with Toyota Safety+, which has an array of safety sensors like blind spot warnings and a pre-collision system.

There is a recognised methodology called “The Toyota Way” the two pillars of the Toyota way are respect for people and continuous improvement [1].

What is evident from this statement is that once Toyota has a winning model, they don’t abandon it for the sake of “something new”; the model is developed, improved, and made relevant for its time.

When choosing a new Toyota

There are many things to consider. A personal contract hire (PCH) could be your best option if you're leaning towards leasing. Here are some benefits of choosing PCH.

One of the main advantages of a PCH is that it can help you budget more effectively. Your monthly payments are fixed, so you'll always know exactly how much you need to set aside; this can be particularly useful if you're worried about your expenses increasing.

Another benefit is that you won't have to worry about selling the car when you no longer want it. You'll need to find a buyer with an outright purchase and haggle over the price. But with a PCH, you can hand the car back to the leasing company at the end of the term and start looking for your next lease car.

Other great benefits of choosing a PCH deal include a low initial payment and the ability to personalise your lease to suit your needs. Plus, with many different models available on lease, you can get a higher-specification car for your budget.

So, if you're considering leasing your next, check out the best Tilsun Leasing PCH deals. Contact our sales team for the best UK deals.
